Acquavit
Acquavite di Mele Licenza N°1
The Apple acquavit Licenza N°1 was born from the dream of Gualberto Ricci Curbastro (1932-2013) and represents the perfect synthesis of the expertise of two family estates: Rontana in Romagna and Ricci Curbastro in Franciacorta.
At Rontana, we cultivate four ancient French apple varieties, while in Franciacorta, we oversee the cider production, distillation, and long aging process. The result is a refined spirit that embodies passion, expertise, and tradition.
Production
- Apple Varieties: ancient French apple varieties grown in Romagna.
- Process: After harvest, the apples are fermented to obtain cider, which is then distilled and aged in French oak barrels.
- Aging: over five years in wood, at a distillation strength of around 70°. At the end of the process diluted with water to 43°, then filtered and bottled. After a short resting period in the bottle, the brandy is ready to be enjoyed.
Tasting Notes
- Colour: Amber yellow with golden reflections.
- Aroma: Fragrant and persistent, with a rich and distinctive aromatic profile. Notes of ripe apple intertwine with spicy and woody nuances.
- Taste: Velvety, smooth, and harmonious. The distinct apple flavour remains delicate yet unmistakable, with a long and lingering finish.
Serving Temperature
Serve at room temperature. Use a balloon glass, which allows the aromas and nuances of the spirit to fully express themselves.
